What is IronHive Co.?
IronHive Co. is a gothic pollinator apparel brand from Sutherlin, Oregon, founded and run by a working beekeeper. The designs are drawn from the real hive and printed to order. Every order earns a packet of wildflower seeds, mailed separately by the keeper.
What are the shirts printed on?
Bella+Canvas — 3001C Classic Tee, 3010C Heavyweight Tee, 6110 Ladies' Heavyweight, 6400 Ladies' Relaxed, 6405 Ladies' V-Neck. All Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton. Hoodies are Independent Trading IND420XD (heavyweight) and IND280SL (midweight). The exact blank is listed in the GARMENT block on every product page.
Where are the garments made, and are they American sized?
The blanks are imported: the Bella+Canvas tees are sewn in Honduras and Nicaragua, and the Independent Trading hoodies come out of their WRAP Gold-certified China and Pakistan factories. Imported doesn't mean cheaply made — the hoodie fabric in particular is heavyweight, ring-spun, and holds up; it's not a thin blank. Every garment is then printed and shipped from our print partner's two US facilities. The brand itself is American, start to finish — every design is drawn from a real Oregon apiary and art-directed by the working beekeeper who keeps it. Sizing is standard American sizing throughout — S–3XL depending on the style — true to size. Check the size chart on each product page before you order.
How are the designs printed?
Direct-to-film transfer, heat-pressed into the fabric. Each piece is printed after you order it — nothing is stocked or pre-printed.
How long does it take to ship?
Printing takes 2–4 business days, then 2–5 business days with USPS or UPS. Most orders land 5–8 business days after you order; a few take up to two weeks. You'll get a tracking email when it leaves. The seeds come in a separate envelope from the keeper, not in the shirt package, and usually land within a few days of it.
How much is shipping?
$4.99 anywhere in the US. Free at $55 and up — any two tees qualify. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are a flat $8.95.
What if I entered the wrong address?
An undeliverable package goes back to the printer and gets reshipped, which adds two to three weeks. Check the address on your confirmation email and reply to it right away if anything's off — it can be fixed before it prints, not after.
Do you ship to Canada or overseas?
Not yet. US only for now.
Do bigger sizes cost more?
No. 2XL and 3XL are the same price as a medium. Tees run S–3XL; the Ladies' V-Neck runs S–2XL. Every product has a size chart with garment measurements — open it before you order.
What if the print peels, cracks, or arrives damaged?
Every print has a 30-day replacement guarantee. Email a photo to support@ironhiveco.co and a new one goes out at no charge.
Can I exchange for a different size?
Yes, within 30 days on unworn, unwashed garments. Email support@ironhiveco.co with your order number and the size you need and we'll set it up.
What seeds come with the order?
A packet of wildflower seeds — the American Meadows Bee Happy blend, chosen for bee forage — mailed separately by the keeper with a handwritten note. It won't be in the shirt package; it comes on its own. How to plant them: ironhiveco.co/seeds.
Who is behind IronHive Co.?
Douglas Laird. He keeps the hives in Sutherlin, Oregon, writes the Field Dispatch email, and mails the seeds himself.
Are the designs AI-generated?
Partly. The imagery is made with AI tools and art-directed by the keeper. The mythology is fantasy — a colony won't move into a deer skull — but the beekeeping underneath it is real: the equipment, the bee anatomy, the seasons, what the hive is actually doing. Where the generator gets a keeper's detail wrong, it gets fixed before anything prints.
How do I wash it?
Inside out, cold water, tumble low or hang dry. No bleach, no fabric softener, no iron on the print.
